Family Story - When Cornelia Tankersly and Agis Arendall were married, although no official paperwork was filed, Cornelia's child Christopher Tankersly was "renamed" Christopher Arendall and refered to as such from then on. There was a considerable age difference between Agis the oldest brother and Rosa, the youngest sister. Rosa married Christopher "Arendall" who was Cornelia's child with William Tankersly and Rosa's brother Agis' step-son. That is why Rosa Arendall's name did not change when she and Christopher Columbus "Arendall" were married. My mother refered to them as Uncle Agis and Grandma Cornelia!! Christopher Columbus "Tankersly / Arendall" died in 1921, before his youngest daughter (my mother Annie Dee Arendall) was born. My mother never knew her father and her mother never remarried.
