Surnames: DOYLE, LEE
I am seeking information ( slave bill of sale, wills, family papers, etc.) of my 2x Great Grandmother SARAH DOYLE b. abt 1840 who was a slave possibly owned by BURWELL LEE or his son ROBERT AUSTIN LEE of Pittsylvania county. Her parents were Peter & Eliza Doyle.Sarah's siblings were Augustine, Thomas, Harriet, Jefferson. Her children were; Paris b.1859, Emerson b.1861, Mildred b.1864, Eliza b.18, Peter b.1869 and Mary Elizabeth. All said to have been owned by the LEE family. They were all mulatto. Sarah is shown in the 1870 census living on his farm. Family legend says she lived there for years after slavery ended. BURWELL married Mildred DILLARD DOYLE in 1857, she could have possibly came into the marriage with Mildred. I have yet to find any information.

Thanks-Denise
