The Right Honable Thomas Lord Fairfax of Leeds Castle in the County of Kent and Baron of Cameron in Scotland and William of Milgate in the parish of Berks and in the said County of Kent Esq. Devepce in Triss and sole executor of the last will and testament of the Right Honable Catharine Lady Fairfax, Proprietors of the Northern neck of Virginia, to all to whom this present is given. Writing shall some send greetings. Know ye that for good in causes and considerations, but more ____ and in consideration of the compensation for our ye paid unto our agent and attorney and annual rent hereafter reserved. We have given, granted and confirmed and by these presents for our heirs and ____. I give, grant and confirm unto ____ ____ _____ of the County of Stafford one certain tract of land containing one hundred and eighty five acres, situated, lying and being in said County of Stafford on the SOUTH BRANCH OF POWELL RUN and is ____ fore with Viz: beginning at (A) three white oaks in the line of the SOUTH BRANCH OF POWELL RUN corner to the land of Leonard Barker running thence South forty degrees West, seventy poles to a whiter oak (B) then North seventy five degrees West, thirty poles to a white oak North seventy three degrees West fifty three poles to a black oak North sixty and a half degrees West, eighty eight poles to a half degree West, eighty eight poles to a oak, North seventy degrees East one hundred and seventy five poles to a white oak; then west sixty four and a half degrees East fifty poles at white oak; ___ ____ on the ___ thence across the Run bending on ___ West forty degrees East one hundred and thirty poles South ___ ____ East sixty one poles to the beginning. Together with all rights, ____ and appertenances there unto belonging. Royal ____ to get me third part of all lead, copper, tin, coals, ____ ____ that it to be found thereon.
We have and to hold the said one hundred and eighty five acres of land together with all Rights, Profits and Benefits to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining except before excepted, to him, the said BURDET HARRISON his ____, heirs and assigns forever, he the said BURDET HARRISON his heirs and assigns therefore yielding and paying to us, our heirs and assigns or to the certain attorney or attorneys of our heirs and assigns, proprietor of the said Northern neck by and every year on the ____Day of Saint Michael the Archangel of the fee rent of one shilling Sterling money for every fifty acres of and hereby granted and so proportionally for a greater or a lesser quantity; Provided that if the said BURDET HARRISON his heirs and assign shall not pay the before received annual rent, so that the same or any part then of shall be behind or unpaid by the space of five whole years after the same shall become ours if lawfully demanded, then it shall and may be lawful for us, our heirs and assigns, proprietors as afore said our or their certain attorney or attorneys, agent or agents into the above granted premises to reenter and hold the same so as if this grant had never profited, given at our office of Lancaster County within our said proprietory under seal.

MARGIN: Harrison leases Cornwell; D(elivere)d James Haggerds son ye, 13th March 1735. (Means James is son of James Haggerd.
This indenture made the 20th day of September in the ffourth year of our Sovereign Lord George the second of Great Britian Ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and thirty two.
Between BURR HARRISON of the County of Prince William of the one part and PETER CORNWELL of the said County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said BURR HARRISON for divers good causes and considerations of the sum of one thousand pounds of tobacco take in hand paid by the said PETER CORNWELL at and before the ensealing of delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof and of every part and particular hereof himself herewith fully satisfied and paid. I do hereby acknowledge a certain Tract of Land in Prince William County CONTAINING ONE HUNDRED ACRES more or less bounded as follows. Beginning at a box oak upon the Branch of the South Run of POWELLS RUN and running to the head of a little Branch from thence running down the said Branch to a white oak and from thence South to the beginning have given granted aliened and confirmed and for himself his heirs his heirs and assigns and by these presents Do give grant alien and confirm unto the said PETER CORNWELL aforesaid and to his heirs for ever with all the right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of in or to all the Tract or Parcel of Land above mentioned containing as is afd with all the Messuages Tenants Houses Outhouses Gardens Orchards Fields Woods Underwoods Ways Water Water Courses and all other advantages Privileges, Profits, Commodities and Appurtenances Whatsoever to the said granted and remised Premises belonging or in anywise appertaining together with all yearly rents and profits reserved in any lease or demise of any part of the Premises aforementioned. To have and to hold all the said Tract or Parcel of Land Messuages Tenants and all other the premises herein before granted remised and released and everypart thereof with all rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said PETER CORNWELL his heirs and assigns forever and the said BURR HARRISON doth hereby coven’ for him of his heirs Executes Ye Adms to and with the said PETER CORNWELL his heirs and Assigns and every of them the aforesaid part or tract of Land and all and singular the premises hereby granted with all the rights. Members and Appurtenances as aforesaid for ever to warrant and defend against him he said BURR HARRISON his heirs and assigns of every of them forever hereafter shall and may by force and virtue of these presents from time to time Lawfully and peaceably have hold use occupy and enjoy the premises with all its rights Members appurtenances and have received and take the rents issues and profits thereof to the proper use behoof of the said PETER CORNWELL his heirs and assigns without the lawful hinderance caution or Molestation of me the said BURR HARRISON his heirs ye or any other person or persons claiming for by or under me by any ways means or presence of a Title whatsoever by or under me and the said BURR HARRISON his heirs and Assigns and every of them at the reasonable request cass ye charge in the Law of the said PETER CORNWELL his heirs and assigns or either of them shall will do make and after acknowledge execute and perform all and every other such further act or acts Things or things conveyance or conveyances assurances or assure and in law for the better assurance and sure making of the Premises herein before granted and every part thereof with the Appurtenances unto the said PETER CORNWELL his heirs and assigns or by their or either of the council Learned in the law shall be reasonably and lawfully devised advised or Reg and. Margaret Linton of parish of Hamilton in County of Prince William, widow for consideration me unto moving and for settling and disposing of several negro slaves, for the advantage and preferment of my son-in-law Moses Quarles of same parish and County, Gent. after my death…for preventing of questions and controversies that might arise amongst my children….to Moses Quarles on negro man slave named Pompey, one negro woman named Kate and three negro boy slaves named Notley, Harry and Will…for consideration of 30 lbs. sterling….Margaret Linton shall have and enjoy the benefit and labour of all the said negro slaves during term of her natural life and may give or sell of any children to be born of the said negro Kate during the said Margaret Lintons natural life….after her decease Jane Quarles the daughter of the said Moses Quarles by Seth his wife shall have the said negro boy slave named Harry, in case said Jane Quarles shall happen to die before her age of 16 years or marriage then Moses Quarles to have said negro boy Harry to his only proper use…Margaret Church the daughter of Robert Church by Mary his wife shall have said negro boy named Will….in case Margaret Church shall happen to die before she marries or if said Moses Quarles shall shall on her day of marriage deliver to said Margaet Church one negro girl or woman of the same age the said negro Will then shall be of in lein and exchange of the said Will and Moses Quarles shall have the said Negro Will to his only proper use. Thomas Whitledge of Parish of Hamilton Prince William County am held and firmly bound unto Burr Harrison in 100 lbs. sterling dated June 19, 1734. The condition of this obligation is such that the above bound Thomas Whitledge hath granted Burr Harrison a tract of land containing 200 acres, now if the above bound Thomas Whitledge shall observe the covenants and agreement ought to be observed mentioned in the aforesaid indenture of release, then Thomas Whitledge shall warrant and forever defend the aforesaid then this obligation to be void and remain in full force and virtue.

Leonard Barker of Prince William county, Gent,..JOSEPH DAVIS of same, planter, and JANE FARROW of same, widow, and administratux of all goods and chattels which were of JOHN FARROW deceased…whereas John Mercer and John Grant of Stafford County, Gent, became bound to the justices of Stafford County Court together with Margaret Farrow of Prince William County for her the said Margaret due administration of the estate of Abraham Farrow, Gent, deceased,…her late husband. And whereas ABRAHAM FARROW died so very little in debt that the said Margaret has since almost completed her administration, nothing remains due from the estate to any other persons except to us the said Leonard, JOSEPH AND JANE. John Mercer and John Grant are desirous to be discharged from their surety ship so that no suit may be here after brought against them. Whereas we are willing to discharge John Mercer and John Grant from the said bond. Know ye therefore Leonard Barker and JOSEPH DAVIS and JANE FARROW do hereby release John Mercer and John Grant from all manner of claims which we may have against them. Provided never the less that this release shall not take effect to any other intent or purpose whatsoever than to debar us from bringing suit or making any claim against the said John Mercer and John Grant on account of the said bond, but the true meaning hereof is that all rights and claims which we have against the said Margaret Farrow shall be good and effectual to us against the said Margaret Farrow or the estate of said Abraham Farrow.

This Indenture made the twenty one day of May in the eight year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the faith, the annogs domini 1735. Between Peter and Charles Cornwall of the parish of Hambleton in the county of Prince William, planters of the one part, and John Tayloe of the Parish of Lunenburgh inthe County of Richmond, Esquire of the other part, witnesseth that for and in considertion of the quantitie of two thousand five hundred pounds of good and lawfull tobacco to them in hand paid by the said John Tayloe at or before the sealing and deliverence of these presents, thew receipt whereof the said Peter and Charles Cornwall doth hereby acknowledge and thereof 1/2 of 1/2 from every part thereof doth release acquit and discharge the said John Tayloe his executors and administrators for ever by these presents they the said Peter and Charles Cornwells hath granted bargained sold aliened remised released and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said John Tayloe in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain and sale thereof to him made for one whole year by indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these presents and by force of the statute for transferring uses into possession and to his heirs and assigns for ever, all that piece or parcel of land that remains to them unsold or otherwise disposed of containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less, being part of the two hundred acres of land bought by Dennis Cornwall, the father of the said Peter and Charles of James Gregg to whome it was given and granted by his brother Thomas Gregg by deed of guise bearing date the 12th day of June anno dom 1699 as may thereby more fully appear relation being thereunto had scituate in the parish of Hambleton and county of Prince William aforesaid and is bounded by the lines of Corbins 4 M acre patent and the line of the land that Abraham and William Farrow escheated from Ann the daughter of William Harwood (both now held by the said Tayloe) and the outward line of Greggs first proprietors deed for eight hundred acres or thereabouts on the main run and branches of Neabsco Creek, and all houses outhouses edifices buildings, yards gardens orchards woods underwoods trees ways waters water courses profits commodities hereiditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said piece or parcel of land hereby granted and released belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remaninder rents issues and profits thereof and also all the esstate right title interest use trust possession benefit propertie claims and demand whatsoever of them the said Peter and Charles Cornwells of in and to the same and all deeds evidences and writings touching or in any wise concerning the said premises or any part thereof, to have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land and premises hereby granted and released with their and every of theeire appurunto the said John Tayloe his heires and assigns forever to the proper use and behoof of him the said John Tayloe and of his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Peter and Charles Cornwells for themselves theire heires executors and administrators do covenant grant and agree to and with the said John Tayloe his heires and assigns by these presents that they the said Peter and Charles Cornwell and their heirs the aforesaid piece or parcel of land hereby granted and released with the appurtenances unto the said John Tayloe his heirs and assigns against all persons claiming by from or under them or either of them, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have interchangeabley set their hands and seals the day and year first written above.

The Right Honorurable Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameron in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland Proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia. To all to whom this present writing shall come sends Greeting. Know ye that for good causes for and consideration of the composition for my use paid and for the annual rent hereafter reserved I have given, granted, and confirmed and by these presents for me my heirs and assigns do give, grant, and confirm unto Charles Cornwell of the County of Prince William a certain tract or Parcel of waste Land situate in the said County on the branches of Powels Run between the Lines of Leonard Barker, John Miller, Burr Calvert or Harrison and said Cornwell and bounded further as by a survey thereof made by Mr. John Warner as followeth. Beginning at an Hiccory and red Oak the beginning Trees of said Cornwells other Tract extending thence N and E sixty poles to a stake in the Line of Miller or Francis Ash the North side a branch marked white oak and red oak thence N 65 degrees west one hundred poles to the corner down marked white oak thence N 30 degrees East. Two hundred and fifty poles to the beginning containing three hundred twenty six acres together with all rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging royal mines excepted and a full third part of all lead, copper, Tinn, Coals, Iron Mines and Iron Ore that shall be found thereon to have and to hold the three hundred twenty six acres of land together with all rights, profits, and benefits to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining except before excepted to Hime this Charles Cornwell his heirs and assigns for ever He, this Charles Cornwell, his heirs and assigns therefore yielding and paying to me my heirs and assigns or to my certain attorney or attorneys , agent or agents or to the certain attorney or attorneys of my heirs and assigns Proprietors of the Northern Neck yearly and every year on the Feast Day of St. Michael the Archangel the fee rent or one shilling sterling money for every fifty acres of land hereby granted and so proportionably for a greater or lesser quantity provided that if this Charles Cornwell his heirs or assigns shall not pay the before reserved annual rent so that the same or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by the space of two whole years after the same shall become due if lawfully demanded that then it shall and may be lawfull for my heirs or assigns Proprietors as aforesaid my or their certain attorney or attorneys agent or agents into the above granted to reenter and hold the same. STAFFORD COUNTY, VA
This indenture made the twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one between MATHEW GREGG of the County of Stafford planter of the one part and ISAAC KENT of the County of Prince William of the other part. Whereas WILLIAM HARRIS and THOMAS BAXTER obtained letters of patent bearing the date the tenth day of October one thousand six hundred and seventy for three thousand acres of land situated in the County of prince William then called Stafford County bounded on the south West side by the Occoquan River on the south East side with a tract of land surveyed for MR. DREATON North East into the woods North West near to the Falls of the said River upon a swamp south West upon Occoquan which divided this land and a tract of land surveyed for COLO. HUMPHRY HIGGINSON as by the said letters patent relation being there unto had may appear and whereas the said WILLIAM HARRIS AND THOMAS BAXTER and one BURR HARRIS obtained other letters patent bearing date the twenty fifth day of October one thousand six hundred and sixty nine for twelve hundred acres of land lying in the said county upon the westward side of the Potomack River upon the Main Run of a small creek that falls into the River of Occoquan beginning at a white oak standing upon the said ridge from thence north to a Red Oak standing on the North side of a small branch near a Run of Water from thence East to a red oak standing by a Piney Slash from thence south to a poplar standing on the head of a small branch that falls into the said Main Run from the said poplar west to the first white oak where it began as by the said last mentioned Letters Patent relation being thereunto had may appear. And whereas there were sold and conveyed to several persons thirteen hundred and forty acres parcel of the above mentioned three thousand acres of land and seven hundred and fifty acre parcel of the above mentioned twelve hundred acres were also sold and taken into an Elder Patent so that there remained within the antient bounds of the said three thousand acres according to a survey thereof nineteen and ninety six acres and four hundred and fifty acres remained of the said twelve hundred acres both which parcels of land the said WILLIAM HARRIS entered into claiming the same by survivorship and died thereof seized. And whereas the said WILLIAM HARRIS by his last will and testament in writing bearing date of twenty fourth day of March one thousand six hundred and ninety seven eight did give and devise the said lands by the name of all his land above Occoquan to his granddaughters JANE AND ANN OWSLEY to be equally divided between them and to the heirs of their body forever and for want of heirs of their bodies to MARY OWSLEY and the heirs of her body and for want of heirs of her body to his grandson THOMAS OWSLEY and his heirs forever as by the said will remaining among the records of Stafford County relation being thereunto had may more at large appear and whereas the said JANE OWSLEY is intermarried with one JAMES GREGG and had issued by him the said MATHEW GREGG party to these presents their eldest son and heir and the said ANN OWSLEY intermarried with one ISAAC KENT and had issue by him the said ISAAC KENT the other party to these presents their eldest son and heir which said MATHEW GREGG AND ISAAC KENT are now seized of the said land and premises with the appurtenances and they being fully agreed that the said premises shall be equally divided and that a just partition by consent may be made between them o as each of them may have in certainty his own part and portion they the said MATTHEW GREGG AND ISAAC KENT with an unanimous assent and consent have madefull and perfect division and partition of the said lands in manner and form following that the said MATHEW GREGG shall have and to him and his heirs of his body for ever in severalty as his portion all that parcel of land remaining unsold and not taken away by an elder patent contained and included within the above mentioned bounds of the patent aforesaid granted to the aforesaid WILLIAM HARRIS, THOMAS BAXTER AND BURR HARRIS supposed to contain four hundred and fifty acres of land now in the occupation of JOHN KEENE AND WILLIAM STEWARD together with all rights to the same belonging and also seven hundred and seventy three acres of land surveyed and laid of at the upper end of the above mentioned tract of three thousand acres of land granted to said WILLIAM HARRIS AND THOMAS BAXTER together with all rights to the same belonging and also seven hundred and seventy three acres of land belonging and that the said ISAAC KENT shall have to him and the heirs of his body for ever in severalty as his part of the remaining part of the said tract of three thousand acres of land according to the antient known and reputed bounds thereof supposed to contain twelve hundred and twenty three acres together with all that rights appertaining now this indenture witnesseth that they the said MATHEW GREGG and ISAAC KENT are agreed with the said partition and do hereby for themselves agree unto the same and for avoiding all doubts which might hereafter chance to arise touching the same it is hereby agreed between the said parties that the said partition so made shall be and taken to be as good effection and available in the law as any division or partition that might or could have been made and the said ISAAC KENT for himself doth grant to said MATHEW GREGG his heirs the he the said MATHEW GREGG may enjoy from him the said ISAAC KENT for his full part bequeathed by the said WILLIAM HARRIS to said JANE AND ANN OWSLEY in full satisfaction thereof. Know all men by these presents that I David Jones of Truro Parish in the County of Prince William Planter for the sum of fifteen hundred and eight pounds of tobacco to me paid by John Hereford of the same Parish and County Gent. have sold unto the said John Hereford and his heirs & assigns one ffeather bed & furniture one cow and two yearlings two iron potts one horse & one colt two pewter dishes & six pewter plates one frying pan two ewes one table one small chest & one mans saddle all which beasts goods & chattels I the said David Jones unto the said John Hereford will warrant and defend Provided always and upon condition that if the said David Jones truly pay unto the said John Hereford his heirs and assigns the aforesaid sum of fifteen hundred and eight pounds of tobacco at or before the tenth day of November in the year one thousand seven hundred and forty one that then everything herein comtained shall be void. This indenture made the 22nd day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one. Between James Scott of Overwharton Parish Stafford County of one part and John Jenkins of Prince William County Truro Parish planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Scott for Rents and Covenants herein after mentioned hath granted to farm let to said John Jenkins one plantation and tract of land whereon he now dwells containing one hundred and fifty acres being a moiety of three hundred acres of land which other moiety was granted to James Jenkins and belonging to the said James Scott together with all other appurtenances all mines minerals and quarries excepted. To have and to hold the said plantation and tract of land of one hundred and fifty acres during the space of the natural lives of the said John Jenkins, Elizabeth his wife and Elizabeth their daughter or the longest liver of them paying every year on the feast of St Luke the Evangelist being the eighteenth day of October the nett sum of 500 pounds of tobacco and caske and if it shall happen that said yearly rent be unpaid for the space of thirty days after it ought to be paid that then it shall be lawfull for the said james Scott into the above premises wholly to reenter and the same to have again and the said John Jenkins doth agree to plant an orchard of 100 good winter apple trees within three years at twenty seven foot distance every way at least and to keep the same well fenced in from harm of cattle or any to her creatures and to build good and convientent houses outhouses and tobacco houses on the said tenement and keep them in good repair and that no sale or spoil shall be done on the woods or underwoods by the said John Jenkins excepting hereby reserving a full liberty to the said James Scott his heirs at their will and desiretions to grant leave to his or their tenants for the time being to take carpenters timbers for building and coopers timber or for rails to be cut down and suffered to rot and perish but made use of for the benefit of the plantation. Witnesseth that said THOMAS HARRISON JUNR. in consideration of the rents and covenants hereafter reserved hath granted to farm let unto the said Peter Gwynn one certain tract of land containing one hundred & fifty acres being in the Parish of Truro and County aforesaid bounded. Beginning at the mouth of a Rocky Branch near Perkins plantation thence running along a line of marked trees to a marked white oak standing in a Branch of Solomon’s path thence running down that branch & over the run up another branch opposite to that branch to the main road that goes from Great Hunting Creek to Goose Creek and so by lines to the beginning together with all houses and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the said one hundred and fifty acres of land & premises unto the said Peter Gywyn during the natural lives of him the said Peter Gwyn, Dianah his wife and Martha their daughter & for and during the life of the longest liver of them paying yearly unto the said THOMAS HARRISON JUNR on the tenth day of April five hundred and thirty pounds of tobacco according to law provided that if said rent be unpaid by space of thirty days then it be lawful for the said THOMAS HARRISON JUNR into the said premises to enter & distrain to take & carry away and further said Peter Gwynn doth agree to plant within three years next coming one hundred good apple trees thirty feet asunder and one hundred good peach trees sixteen feet asunder from each other & during the term keep well trimmed within a good fence safe from horses, cattle, sheep and other creatures and at the expiration of the term deliver the tenement with the orchard and the houses together the fences in good repair and the said THOMAS HARRISON JUNR doth grant that it may be lawfull for the said Peter Gwynn to settle a subtenant on the premises under the before yearly rent. This indenture made the 20th and twenty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty. Between JOHN RANDOLPH of the County of Prince William Planter and ANNE his wife one of the daughters and coheirs of THOMAS OSBORNE late of the said County Gent, deceased of one part and Cuthbert Harrison of the same County Gent. of the other part. The right Honourable Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameronin that part of Great Britain called Scotland Proprietor of the Northern neck of Virginia. To all to whom this present writing shall come send greeting. Know ye that for good causes for your consideration of the composition to me paid of for the annual rent hereafter received. I have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for me my heirs and assigns do give grant and confirm unto William Linn of Prince William County a certain tract of waste and ungranted land in the said county adjoining unto Collo Blackburn of County as by a survey thereof made by Mr George Byrn as follows. Beginning at two red oak saplins corner to the land of Charles Cornwall and in a line of William Ridley extending thence along one of the said lines north fifty degrees west sixteen poles to a red and white oak thence with another of the said lines north 80 degrees west sixty eight poles to a black oak sapling on a ridge thence with another line south 80 degrees west fifty four poles to three chestnut oaks, thence again with another line south 48 degrees west fifty poles to a box oak a corner of James French deceased. Thence with the said French line north 40 degrees west fifty two poles two white oaks on a branch side corner to Henry Hally and John Miles, Mr John Gregg’s land. Thence then with his line East fifty four poles to two black oak saplins a corner. Thence with another line North 25 degrees East eighty poles to a Spanish oak sapling at the head of a glade. Thence South 25 degrees twenty four poles to chestnut oak corner to BURR CALVERT. Thence with or near his lines south 70 degrees east one hundred and eighteen poles to a Spanish oak. Thence with another line north 76 degrees east fifty four poles to CHARLES CORNWALL’S LAND. Thence with his line to the beginning containing 48 acres. Together with all rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging Royal Mines excepted and a full third part of all lead, copper, tinn, coals, iron mine and iron ore that shall be found thereon. To have and to hold the said forty eight acres of land. Together with all rights, profits and benefits to the same belonging or in any wise appertainances excepted as before excepted to him the said William Linn his heirs and assigns forever. He the said William Linn his heirs or assigns therefore yielding and paying to me my heirs or assigns or to my certain attorney or attornies agent or agents or to the certain attorney or attorneysof my heirs or assigns proprietors of the said Northern Neck yearly and every year on the feast day of St Michaels the archangel the present of one shilling sterling money for every fifty acres of land hereby granted and so proportionably for a greater or lesser quantity. Provided that if the said William Linn his heirs or assigns shall not pay the before reserved annual rent so that the same or any part there of shall be behind or unpaid by the space of two whole years after the same shall become. Due if lawfully demanded that then it shall and may be lawfull for my heirs or proprietors as aforesaid my or there certain attorney or attornies agent or agents into the above granted premises to reenter and hold the same so as if this grant had never seal. Witnesseth that for sum of (in lease five shillings)(in release two hundred pounds current money of Virginia) to said BURR HARRISON and ANN his wife in hand paid by said Jabez Downman (in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain and sale to him for one whole year and by force of statute for transferring uses into possession) one tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and twelve acres taken up and patented by Thomas Walter and THOMAS HARRISON by deed from the Proprietors office bearing date the third day of April one thousand seven hundred and five and bounded. Beginning on east side of Morumsco Creek on Capt. SON: WILLIAM—four negroes—also one half of the land whereon I now have a Quarter purchased of ELIAS EDMONDS to be equally divided between him and his brother BURR HARRISON also one other small piece of land lying on the right hand side of the road leading through Ashby’s Gap and part of a tract of land I purchased of Mr Mercer to be divided in like manner—one other negro called Dublin.
SON: THOMAS—one tract of land I took up, 409 acres, except what I have sold out of the same to Joseph Kelly and Edmond Homes—one other tract of land which I took up joining the above mentioned land being 344 acres. Also my will and desire is that my said son THOMAS do sell the several parts of the said land to the persons I have already agreed with and make them good and lawfull deeds from him and his heirs---money due from Edmonds Homes for his bond---negroes—and all my wearing Boddy Cloaths.
SON: BURR---408 acres I bought of John Mercer, Gent. Deceased with the plantation thereon lying between the land of WILLIAM HARRISON and Dixon’s Quarter laid off and surveyed by John Moffett—four negroes.

This indenture made the (in lease sixth) (in release seventh) day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy five. Between Cuthbert Harrison of Parish of Dettingen and County of Prince William Gentleman of the one part and Henry Lee of same Parish and County Esquire of the other part. Witnesseth that for sum of two hundred and fifty pounds current money of Virginia Cuthbert Harrison hath granted unto Henry Lee (in his actual possession now being by virtue of a sale for one year and by force of the statue for transferring uses into possession) and his heirs all that parcel of land being in the Parish and County aforesaid on Neabsco Creek in Freestone Point Neck containing one hundred acres being the land purchased by Richard Croper of Robert Leatherland and by Richard Croper the younger son and heirs by law of said Richard Croper the elder sold to THOMAS OSBORN by deeds of lease and release bearing date the 16th and 17th day of October 1732 recorded in the county court of Prince William the said lands adjoining to surrounded and bounded by the lines of the land of said Henry Lee and Neabsco Creek including all the marshes, islands, low grounds and meadow lands thereon the said THOMAS OSBORNE dying intestate and without a will or making any legal disposition thereof the same lands together with all the real and personal estate of which THOMAS OSBORNE died seized descended and vested in Ann, Mary, Margaret and Prudence, daughters and coheirs of said THOMAS OSBORN, the said Prudence soon after dying sole and a minor without issue, her dividend and coparcenary therein of her father’s estate descended to and legally vested in her last mentioned surviving sisters and coheirs: ANN, who intermarried with JOHN RANDOLPH, MARY, who intermarried with William Henley and MARGARET who intermarried with JOHN BLAND , who held the same in severality in fee simple did together with their several respective husbands by their several deeds recorded in said County Court sell unto Cuthbert Harrison Gent. all their and each of their shares and inheritance in the said lands or any other part of their father’s real or personal estate whatsoever of their sister, Prudence, that they and each of them were legally intitled to or might claim. To witness the said JOHN RANDOLPH and ANN his wife by deeds of lease and release dated the 20th and 22nd of October 1750, the said William Henley and Mary his wife by deeds of lease and release dated the 23rd and 24th of September 1751 and JOHN BLAND and Margaret his wife by deeds of lease and release dated the 26th and 27th day of July 1756 reference to said deeds may appear which said one hundred acres hereby sold descended and vested in the said Cuthbert Harrison party to these presents as son and heir at law of his father, Cuthbert Harrison, who died seized of the same lands without will or making any legal disposition thereof and all houses buildings and appurtenances belonging. The condition of the above obligation is that if above bounded Cuth Harrison well and truly fulfill all the articles and agreements made between said Cuthbert Harrison and Henry Lee which ought to be performed then this obligation to be void otherwise to be in full force in presence of us.

This indenture made this twenty ninth day of July one thousand seven hundred and eighty four. Between John Gregg and Sarah his wife of Anwell township in County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania of one part and Alexander Lithgow of town of Dumfries County of prince William and commonwealth of Virginia, merchant, of other part. Witnesseth that John Gregg and Sarah his wife for the sum of thirty five pounds fourteen shillings and three pence Virginia Cy. To him said John Gregg in hand paid by Alexander Lithgow by these presents do bargain and sell unto Alexander Lithgow his heirs a certain tract of land situated in County of Prince William on the branches of Quantico Creek and purchased by John Gregg from John Masterson and Sarah his wife by deed recorded in Prince William County office bearing the date the twenty seventh day of December one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine, which tract of land is bounded. Beginning at a large white oak on a ridge corner of the grand patent taken up by JOHN FARROW deceased and devised to his son, ABRAM FARROW, who sold and conveyed the same unto Edward Masterson father to the said John Masterson, extending thence with the outline of said patent north forty eight and a half degrees west one hundred and fifty four poles by a line of marked trees to a black oak corner on another ridge, then with another line of the said patent north twenty two degrees east by another old line of marked trees one hundred and ninety two poles to a white oak in a valley, corner of land purchased by Colo. Blackburn and corner of said patent one hundred and eighty five poles, thence south twenty eight degrees west by a line of trees now marked which divide the lands hereby intended to be sold from the said patent one hundred and eighty poles to the beginning white oak, containing two hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less and also all lands woods profits and appurtenances belonging. To have and to hold the said land with appurtenances unto Alexander Lithgow his heirs and John Gregg will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In the name of God, amen: I. Thomas Bland, of the County of Fauquier and the State of Virginia, being sick in body but of perfect sense and memory…do make this my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Bland, all of my tract of land lying and being in Prince William County on the Waters of Powell’s Run, to him and his heirs forever, except the lot of land lying and being on the waters of Powell’s Run in Prince William County, where on WILLIAM CORNELL now lives, containing one hundred and thirty acres. Item. I give and bequeath to my youngest son James Bland, all that lot of land lying and being on the waters of Powell’s Run in Prince William County whereon WILLIAM CORNELL now lives, to him and his heirs forever, the said land containing one hundred and thirty acres. Item. I give and bequeath to my youngest son James Bland all my right and title to the land whereon I now live, which said land I leased of Benjamin Harrison and lies in Fauquier County. Item. I give my said son the colt my bay riding mare is now with foal with. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughters Catherine and Mary Bland, two negroes named Nell and Moses to them and their heirs forever. I likewise give to my daughter, Mary Bland, one featherbed and furniture. Item. I give to my son Thomas Bland and his heirs, one negro woman named Phyllis. Item. I give unto my son James the rents of the two plantations whereon HUMPHREY COLVERT and WILLIAM CORNELL now live for six years next ensuing the date of my decease, which said rents my desire is that my executors shall apply to the education of my son James Bland, and to no other use. All other my estate, my desire is, shall be sold in order to discharge my just debts…I nominate, constitute and appoint my loving wife Jane Bland and Thomas Bland and Benjamin Harrison, Executrix and Executors to this my last will and testament…this first day of April, 1788.

This indenture made this twenty ninth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight. Between Thomas Arrington and Mary his wife of County of Fauquier, Planter, of one part and James Nisbett of County of Prince William of the other part. Witnesseth that Thomas Arrington and Mary his wife for the sum of eighty pounds current money by these presents do bargain sell and confirm unto James Nisbett his heirs a certain tract of land lying in County of Prince William containing one hundred acres be the same more or less which said tract of land was granted by deed from the proprietors office of William Harrison and Lewis Markham the said Thomas Arrington by sundry means conveyances being now possessed thereof, the same is bounded. Beginning at a pine corner to the land of James Nisbett and running from thence south fifty eight degrees east ninety two poles to the line of Colo. George Mason thence with his line to a white oak the corner of Colo. Thomas Blackburns land, thence with his line to a white oak corner to said Nisbett’s land thence with his line to the beginning and all woods water courses profits and appurtenances. To have and to hold the lands unto James Nisbett his heirs. And Thomas Arrington and his heirs by these presents shall warrant and forever defend said Thomas Arrington hereby reserves for himself his heirs one acre of the granted land where the grave yard at present is. JOHN RYBURN,late of Fredericksburgh and commonwealth of Virginia and ALEXANDER MONTGOMERIE of Annick Lodge in the kingdom of Great Britain, executors of the last will and testament of Thomas Montgomerie, late of Dumfries in County of Prince William deceased---Whereas said Thomas Montgomerie by his last will and testament bearing date on or about the eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, did devise to JEAN CORNWELL, then by the name of JEAN CONNOR, an annuity of sixteen pounds of Virginia currency per year to be paid her quarterly during her natural life and did also constitute and appoint the said JAMES DUNLOP, JOHN RYBURN AND ALEXANDER MONTGOMERIE executors of the said will. Now this indenture witnesseth that SAMUEL CORNWELL and JEAN CORNWELL his wife for the sum of one hundred and twenty eight pounds current money of the commonwealth of Virginia to them in hand paid by these presents do and each of them doth fully and for every quit claim unto JAMES DUNLOP, JOHN RYBURN AND ALEXANDER MONTGOMERIE the said annuity of sixteen pounds current money of Virginia and all remedies both in law and in equity for recovering the same. In witness whereof the said SAMUEL CORNWELL AND JEAN CORNWELL have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first written.

This release from SAMUEL CORNWELL AND JANE CORNWELL his wife to JAMES DUNLOP, JOHN RYBURN AND ALEXANDER MONTGOMERIE, executors of the last will and testament of THOMAS MONTGOMERIE deceased, was proved by the oaths of THOMAS HARRISON JR and CARR BAILEY JUNR and ordered to be certified. And at a court continued and held for the same County the 6th day of February 1798, this release was fully proved by the oath of GEORGE COCKRELL and ordered to be recorded.
