The Commonwealth of Virginia to James Ewell, John Tyler and Bernard Hooe Gentlemen. Greeting whereas Leonard Hart and Catharine his wife by their certain deed of Bargain and sale dated the second day of May 1705 sold and conveyed unto Moore Hoff the fee simple estate of and in one hundred and sixty acres of land situate lying and being in the County of Prince William and parish of Dettingin whereas the said Catharine cannot conveniently travel to the county court of Prince William to make acknowledgement of the same therefore Power is hereby given unto you or any two of you to receive the acknowledgment of which the said Catharine shall be willing to make before you of the conveyance aforesaid contained in the said Deed which is hereunto annexed and that you do call and cause to come before you the said Catharine and Examine her privily and a part from her said husband whether she doth the same freely and voluntarily, without the pursuasion or threats of her said husband and whether she be willing the same should be recorded in the said County Court of Prince William and when you have taken her acknowledgement and Exm's her as aforesaid that you distinctly and openly certify the justices of our said County Court thereof under your seals sending there the said deed and this wit.
