Brown Family Reunion

Surnames: BROWN, BROOKS, SHAW, LAWLER
I am looking forward to the Annual Brown Family Reunion in Amissville this weekend. This is the Brown Family that lived in that region and in Fauquier county that originated from Lewis Brown, whose father was Lewis Brown, Sr. and whose mother was Maria Jane Brooks. Maria Jane's parents were Titus Brooks and Lucy Lawler (also written as Lolla). Lucy's parents were Samuel Lawler and Elizabeth Shaw from Culpeper. I have traced another ancestor by the name of Thomas Shaw who was related - not sure how - to ELizabeth Shaw. They lived in the same household in 1813 tax list and were free African Americans. He may have been her father and he was a Revolutionary War soldier.

Lewis Brown was born free in 1850s and his mother's family was free all the way back to his great grandparents in the late 1700s.

If you are in this famliy tree, contact me.
