A good portion of northern Rockbridge County , VA was a part of Borden's Grant ( variation of sp. of Borden). This area was formerly Augusta County before Rockbridge Co. was formed in 1778. Google History of Rockbridge County VA by Morton and you will find the details of this grant and the people involved.
