Abie Booher McMurray, 68, Route 1, went to be with God Wednesday (Nov. 15, 2000) at her residence.
She was a native of Scott County, Va., a homemaker and a member of Gardners Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, James and Eliza Wilson Booher.
Mrs. McMurray was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She loved God and her church. Mom we will all miss you!
Surviving are her husband, Howard McMurray, Hilton, Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Patricia McIntosh, Camden, Ohio, Mrs. Trula Carrier, Universal City, Texas, Ms. Peggy Rodefer, Bluff City, Tenn., Ms. Sonya Rodefer, Blountville, Ms. Pauline Smith, Ms. Judy Weatherly, both of Bristol, Tenn.; two sons, James McMurray, Hilton, Va., and Earnest McMurray, Gate City, Va.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Woodruff, Massillon, Ohio; two brothers, Laney Booher, Jonesborough, and Alfred Booher, Kingsport; special caregivers and friends, Dr. John Sherrill, Medic One EMS and members of Gardners Chapel Primitive Baptist Church; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gardners Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Carter, Elder Gerald Hopkins, the Rev. Clarence Huffman and the Rev. Phillip Ketron officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardners Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Laughlin, Adam Ketron, Greg Laughlin, Scott Laughlin, Chris Carter and Barry Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be V.P. McMurray, Cecil Rodefer, James Rodefer, Charlie McCoy, Terrell Smith and Don Huffman.
