NICKELSVILLE, Va. - Paul Sluss Jr., 57, entered into rest Monday (Aug. 30, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, Va., on Aug. 24, 1947 to the late James Paul Sluss Sr., and Rhoda Lillian Sluss.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Strong.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sluss, Nickelsville, Va.; two daughters, Leanna Castle, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Melissa and husband, Travis Maxfield, Castlewood, Va.; two sons, James Fred Sluss, Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Teddy Hileman, Coeburn, Va.; one granddaughter, Brenda Castle, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Leonard Ferguson officiating.
Music will be provided by the Gethsemane Quartet.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Corder Cemetery, Dungannon, Va. The family will meet at 1 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Taylor, Terry Meade, Wade White, Preston White, Allen Addington, Jim Culbertson, Curtis Culbertson, Bob Elliott, Jim Delanno, Wayne Cress, Greg Hensley and Dale Knuckles.
