Surnames: Flanary Flannery Baldwin
I'm the GGGrandson to Patton Baldwin Flannery. I've been trying to figure out where his middle name might of came. If it was a family name or maybe his parents just liked the name Baldwin. Anyhow, its my last name. Where it should be Flannery. He dropped the last name in 1890 when he was running from the law. Patton and his brothers killed Joel and Charles Necessary, Hiram Johnson, William Freeman, and possibly Samuel Duncan. In 1927, C.C. Palmer , sheriff of Scott County came to Oklahoma and arrested him for murder 37 years after the crime. He was acquitted and took back the Flannery name, but his son Frank was 30 years old with a family at the time and he decided to keep the name Baldwin. They were a rowdy bunch, all the same I would like to know why my name is Baldwin. I've researched his line back and no Baldwin's pop up.

Frankie Baldwin, Jr.
