Looking for any information on George or any other McNiel or McNeil prior to 1775. In 1775 George witnessed a land sale for John Shepherd Sr (1734/1810), probably related in some manner, before both families migrated to Wilkes Co, NC. Any early info is appreciated. He may have been born about 1720 in Scotland and was married to Mary Sarah Coates, "of Virginia" bor approx 1722.

Info on any other McNiel or McNeil's in the county even after this date may be valuable as they could be brothers or relatives of George.
