My grandparents were born, married and lived in Stafford County for some years before moving to Fredericksburg. James Edward Armstrong married Eliza Gordon Rose in 1881. His father was George Armstrong who married Elizabeth Edwards. James and Eliza has he following children: Ashton, Myron, William, E. Gordon, Lola, Myrna, Nellie.

Eliza had a sister, Sarah, who married a Wine. She also had a sister, Beck Rose.
