Here is some information I have on Dorcas and William Lester:

Information on marriage to Polly (Smith) Blankenship is found in the book Annals of Tazewell County, Virginia.

It seems that the Lesters came from England and first settled in North Carolina. There, William Lester was born in about the year 1770 and married Dorcus Dunegan. Some years after the Revolutionary War, William Lester moved west where game was more plentiful. He had two daughters and one son. It seems that his wife died before he moved into this direction, and that in crossing the New River, one of his daughters drowned, Dorcus by name. It is not known what became of the other daughter.

William Lester, when a very old man, married old Polly Blankenship, widow of Eli Blankenship Sr.. They lived at Upper Sturgeon Branch on Big Cub Creek. She lived to the age of 103 years.

His son Joseph, came with his father and married Dicey Bailey, a daughter of Archibald Bailey, and settled at the mouth of Rose Branch on Little Huff Creek. According to "Dyres Index" Joseph took up a land grant of 20 acres on Little Huff in Logan County in 1831. Their children were: (1) Pleasant Lester who married a Miller and settled on Big Branch. (2) Rebecca married A. Laxton Godfrey and settled on Little Huff at the mouth of Spring Branch. (4) Isaac B. Lester married Polly Godfrey and settled on Little Cub Creek. (5) Joseph Lester Jr. married Martha Morgan, a daughter of David Morgan. (6) Archibald Lester married a daughter of Anthony Morgan. (7) Nancy Lester married Eli Blankenship. (8) Tazzie Lester married William Walls. (9) David Lester married several times. (10) Matthew J. married Minitie Justice of Logan County. (11) Amos Lester married Edna Cline.

Joseph Lester Sr. was sheriff of Wyoming County from 1856 to 1860. Joseph Je., Isaac B., Archibald and David Lester were Confederate Soldiers in Co. G 22nd Va. Reg. Inf.
