My grandfather, Daniel Webster Hill, b. 1890, abandoned my grandmother and their children in in Norfolk, VA in 1938, and they never heard from him again. I have been trying to find out what happened to him. I've always heard that he may have been in Petersburg, where I believe he had family. Today, at a funeral, a family member told me that he'd been found dead in a garage, but they didn't recall when this supposedly happened. If this rings a bell, or if anyone has access to newpaper archives from the area, I would appreciate any information.
