Rose May Crouse, of the 500 block of East Gilpin Ave., a retired nurse, died April 27, 1991 in a Jacksonville, N.C., hospital.
Mrs. Crouse, a native of Norfolk, had retired from the operating room at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Ocean View Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Seamans Home and volunteered for the American Red Cross and the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Mrs. Crouse was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 157; Women of the Moose Academy of Friendship; and the Ladies Auxiliary of Fleet Reserve Branch 66. She worked on the Electoral Board for the City of Norfolk and had been active as a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband, William G. Crouse; two daughters, Darlene Locken of Shawboro, N.C., and Barbara Weich of Norfolk; a son, Melvin L. Crouse of Laceyville, Pa.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. James E. Carriker. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Ocean View Presbyterian Church.
