Welcome to all.
The Northern Neck is hereby defined as Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, Westmoreland, King George, Stafford, Essex and Middlesex counties. This is a little more than the classic definition, but these counties were included for various reasons to give the widest coverage to the Northern Neck research area.

The Northern Neck of Virginia Families Tree on Ancestry.com http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/30617119/family
The objective of this Tree is to document the Colonial Ancestors who lived in the Northern Neck with documented Trees. The goal is to include the records and other documentation to prove these lines - we are looking for quality, not quantity. We currently have about 50 Editors of this Tree, and we recommend Editors also subscribe to the Northern Neck Email group, where ancestries are discussed. The Owner of this Tree is Jim Bartlett at firstname.lastname@example.org
Email him if you want to become an Editor and enter your NN Ancestors.
Craig Kilby has also established a Northern Neck of Virginia Facebook page, for questions, chatting, posting of pictures, etc. Please visit and Like us at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/278272062202180/?id=28239937...
The NorthernNeck-VA DNA Group has also been set up at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/NorthernNeck-VA/
This site is primarily for people who have taken the Family Finder autosomal DNA test, but participants with other DNA test (Y-DNA and mtDNA) that link to ancestors in the Northern Neck are also welcome. Jim Bartlett is the Admin for this DNA group - he is looking for 1 or 2 co-Admins to help analyze the participant matches, Common Ancestors, and atDNA segments that are tied to the Northern Neck.
This site may be used for any purpose related to the Northern Neck of Virginia. It is anticipated that some of the rules and process for the above tools will be posted here for easy future reference for newcomers.
