EMSTRUMS DIE SAME DAY IN TWO HOSPITALS
V.I. Emstrum, a long-time familiar figure in janitorial work in White Salmon, died Wednesday morning at the veterans hospital in Vancouver just a few hours prior to an operation scheduled for 8:30 am.
His wife, Electa Emstrum died at Skyline Hospital shortly after noon the same day.
A double funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Ross Hollywood Mortuary, Portland.

DOUBLE SERVICE FOR EMSTRUMS
Victor Irving Emstrum died July 27 in a Vancouver hospital and his wife Electa Grace Emstrum died the same day at Skyline Hospital, White Salmon.
They, are survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.O. (Maxine) Johnson, Bingen and Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Walters, Seattle; and two sons, Martin Headman, Fullerton, Calif. and Charles Emstrum, Portland, Margaret Lord, Los Angeles, Calif. a sister of Mrs. Emstrum also survives.
Mrs. Emstrum, nee Groshong, was June 1, 1896 at White Salmon. She was a member of White Salmon Chapter OES No. 107 and Auxiliary of Veterans of WW I 2140.
Mr. Emstrum was born July 15, 1895 at Vancouver.
He was a member of Mt. Ad-ams BPOE 1868 and Veterans of WWI No. 2140, and a life member of Doric Lodge 132 A. F. & A. M. in Portland.
