I am researching the family of Martin LOY who came to Burk co. PA in 1741 from Heidelburg Gramany. He is said to have his father, Johann ? Loy here with him.
They ended up in ORANGE CO NC late in the century. I often wondered if they lived in VA/WV on their way south. It seems when folks left LANCASTER & BERK CO PA they tended to
stay awhile in VA. Hoped I could find info on a Johann, Martin, John and George LOYS from Germany to PA to....
Martin married a FAUST/FOUST in PA, and they seem surrounded by Nelson, Miller, Sharp, and Lambert.
Johns wife Mary HOLT was born in CULPEPPER CO. VA. So many of them were also in the AUGUSTA/HAMPSHIRE/HARDY area too around 1750.
Any info on LOYS would be greatly appreciated.
