Beverley Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all To whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by Virtue of an Entry made under the Act of Assembley Intitled "an Act concerning Surveyors and in Consideration of the Ancient Composition of two pounds Sterling paid by John Hawk into the Treasury of this Commonwealth There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said John Hawk a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing three Hundred and Eighty Six acres by Survey bearing bearing [sic] date the twenty Seventh day of October one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four lying and being in the County of Hampshire on the head waters of Lunies Creek and bounded as followeth Towit Beginning at a white oak on a hill and running north Sixty eight degrees West two hundred poles to a red oak on the Side of a hill thence South forty degrees West two hundred poles to a black oak by a small drain of Lunies Creek thence South fifty degrees East three hundred and twenty poles to a pine on a ridge thence North twelve and a half degrees East two hundred and Seventy five poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances To have and To hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said John Hawk and his heirs forever In witness whereof the said Beverley Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and Caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the fourth day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty nine and of the Commonwealth the thirteenth ~
