Classification: Query
Surnames: JOHN DAVIS
I don't know John's wife's name, just 2 of his daughters,
Maria and Elizabeth b.1772. Elizabeth married Martin Luther Carr in 1792/93 in HARDY CO. VA.
I know John had other children, but i have no names for them. They went to church at the South Mill Creek Church.
John was a double spy during the Rev War and was involved
in the CLAYPOOL REBELLION along with his 2 brothers and Van Meter & others. He was arrested for treason and sentence
to hang, but he escaped and disappeared into the wilderness.
I believe his family may have come to VA from NJ, and originally were descended from Wales.
