Merdine Wright Conley, 83, of Ravenswood, Jackson County, WV, departed this life on Sunday, September 26, 1999, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born May 19, 1916, at Spencer, WV, a daughter of the late John Gay and Letha (Tuttle) Wright.

She was formerly a department store clerk and was a member of the Baptist Church of Richmond, VA.

She is survived by her sister, Juanita Wine, of Ravenswood; nieces, Karen Smith, Sharon Warren, Connie Goodrich, all of Ravenswood, and Diane Turner of St. Albans; nephews, Bud Wright and Jack Wright; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and one loving cousin, Betty Bryant of Akron, OH.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cager Conley, and brothers, Larence, Albert and Gay Wright.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Arrangements by Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV.
