Nancy Ann LAWRENCE PRIEST moved from Fauquier Co. VA to Lewis Co. WV (VA) following the death of her husband, Willis PRIEST. Most of her children went with her, and several intermarried with LAWRENCE cousins. They are in the census in Lewis Co. beginning in 1850. In 1860 they are in Weston, 1870 in Willey township and in 1880 in Freemans Creek. Sometimes the census taker spelled the surname as LORENTZ. The PRIEST children who married and/or had children were:
Mary Mildred (m. Wm. Mason LAWRENCE); Albert H. (m. Agnes LAWRENCE); William N. (m. Sarah MCQUEEN - they returned to VA-Rappahannock Co.); John Mason (m. Mandana DENNISON); Robert E. (m. Sarah C. and remained in VA); Ann W. (did not marry, but had at least one child out of wedlock); Orin Hall (m. Julia Ann FREEMAN and 2nd Carzada DENNISON); Cordova (m. Drusilla LAWRENCE).
