My g-g-grandfather William McClain (1795-1849) is buried in a small private cemetery south of Walkersville. I'm wondering if this cemetery and the graves it contains has been documented. My grandfather, the Rev. Robert M. McClain, raised funds in the early 20th century to have a tombstone erected for William's grave. I believe there are a few other people buried there, although I'm not sure whether those graves are marked or not.
A cousin of mine has seen the graveyard, but my attempt many years ago just got me lost in a lot of blackberry vines. I know it's located on the hillside above a cut in the highway a short distance south of Walkersville.
Any info?
