Seeking descendants of Frank (Francis) Crist or Christ, who lived in Wheeling, West Virginia, maybe from about 1910 on, probably worked for railroad. May have had a son named Dallas. His siblings include Charles or Arthur Crist, Paul Crist, Catherine or Kate Crist, and my grandfather John Anthony Christ. Parents of these siblings were Charles Christ and Philumena Frances "Minnie" Schmelzer. Their children's birthdates and places: Charles or Arthur and Paul (first born) were born at Corning Ohio about 1879. John Anthony (last born) about 1892 in Columbus, Ohio. I'm do not know where Frank and Kate were born. Schmelzers lived near Breman and Geneva, Ohio. According to family tradition, Christs were from Alsace but I have no proof. I am more inclined to believe that Charles Christ or Crist, the immigrant, came to U.S. about 1870 -- perhaps from Ornbau, Bavaria, Germany -- to avoid conscription into the Franco-Prussian War of 1871.
