Adam Deem came from England to Ireland then settled in New England in 1725. Adam Deem, senior born at Hagerstown, MD, in 1757, served as a soldier in the Continental army. He removed to Pennsylvania in his early manhood. In his old age came to Ritchie County where he spent his last hours just across from the mouth of Goose Creek. He had 7 sons and 3 daughters. Daughters not listed, sons were Adam, Jr., Phillip, Jacob, John, James, David and Isaac G. Deem.
Adam Jr. married a cousin Hannah Deem and came from Greene Co. PA near the year 1810. He was a soldier of the war of 1812. He died in the "Buckeye State" near 1867. He and his wife rest there but not side by side. He reared a large family: Abraham, John, Adam III, Isaac, Philip, Jacob, Margaret, Charlotte, Melissa, and Elizabeth.
