Does anyone have access to old newspapers? I am interested in 3 articles:
1. Chetek Alert, 10-15-1897 it mentions that Grace Proctor married Albert H Howard

2. Barron County News Shield, 3-24-1911, it mentions that Nellie K Proctor and Wm T Owens obtained a marriage license. I can't seem to find out if they-Nellie and Wm T-did in fact get married.

3. Barron Co News Shield, 6-21-1901, which mentions the death of Sarah Proctor.

If these are not available, if someone could tell me how I might get a copy or learn what the articles say, I will certainly appreciate that.

Just found another site. It is an online book called : "History and Biographical Album of Chippewa Valley in WI" by George Forrester. The info about Dr. Pease is on pages 458 and 461.

Any information on John O'Donnell family members in the Stanfold, Wisconsin area from about 1880 on would be greatly appreciated. He came from County Cork to Bangor, Maine in 1846, in Civil War, married and lived in Mass and Minn before settling in Wis. Thanks!

Looks like Sigward was married twice.

First marriage to Elma Sagsteun. The marriage was published 24 May 1917 in the "Dunn County News".

Second marriage to Susan Langerude. The marriage was published on 25 Nov 1923 in the "Barron County News Shield".

There is a stone at Wayside Cemetery in Barron, Wisconsin for Charles and Barbara Merchant. Charles was born in 1865 and died in 1956. Barbara was born in 1866 and died in 1951. The grave is in Block 5 of that cemetery.

Lester lived with my grandparents for years after his stepmother, Bena, died. Bena was the sister of my great-grandfather, Oscar.

Lester's biological mother was Della (Craig) Gilbertson, Christ's first wife.

Hi, I recently came across a 1920's pic of the plant with about 25 workers standing in front of it. My family is from Chicago so I think that's where this was taken. If you're interested, I'll try to scan and send to you.
I'd love to get more information about the plant. The family names back then were Dunahue, or Kennedy, Eberle, or Coyne.

Been long time since on here but the name Bakken rings a bell. The school in Sioux Creek when my parents went to school there the teachers name was Cora Bakken. I think I even have a picture of the class and teacher.

I am looking for info on Thomas Thompson, born 1882 in Norway, died 1882 in Sioux Cree, Barron , Wisconsin of a lumbering accident.The name was probably different when he immigarated. He married a Mary ? and they had the following children-George-born ,1878 in Diamond Ridge, Dunn, Richard born 1880-Dallas, Barron, And John T-born 1884, in Dallas Barron. I would like to know what his Norwegian spelling of his name was and his parents names, and if he had siblings. I would also like to know what Mary's maiden name was. From what I can find out it may have been Thomas or Thomason.

Hi, wondering if someone is going to the courthouse in the near future and would look up a death record for me.

Richard M Proctor, dod 9-6-1910 in Dallas, Barron county.

I am hoping his birth date and county and parents names are all given.

He was born in OH but don't know the county. Am hoping his father was John Proctor and don't know the mother's name.

Did you ever find any other information after 1930?

James Alger graduated from Chetek High School in 1939 (or at least was in the Chetek Yearbook pictures in the class of 1939). He is also listed in the Chetek High Alumni Directory in 1952 with the address of 542 SW 12th Ave, Miami, FL; also in the 1967 Chetek High Alumni Directory with the address of 100 Teresa Lane, Merritt Island, FL.

I have not found him in 1940, or anywhere else until the SSDI-

Thanks for the reply and offer. I found the book online yesterday at the Eau Claire Library and was able to save JPG of the biographies. Also, a picture of George. From these, I can create text files. The library had a quite few histories available.

Well I'm astonished at the help I have received. It fits very well the small amount of data I have. I will try more on the emmigration records and passenger lists as well. Very interesting now because I have a lot of more information to dig into, verify and investigate.

Thanks a lot, yes I can imagine that spelling of spoken swedish surnames can end up like this. The record fits his birthdate and the middle name initial W (Which is spelled both V or W in swedish churchrecords).
