I'd like to add a little to this family: Kari Nilsdatter, the mother of these Larson siblings, had a daughter before she was married to Lars Olsen. Her name was Guri, and she was born Dec. 30, 1857, in Støren. She is listed with her mother and siblings in the 1865 census.
She also emigrated, some time around 1881-82 (I have not found her in the emigration records). On Aug. 12, 1882, she was married in Eau Claire to Tarald Ingebrigtsen Haugen, born Nov. 11, 1855, in Soknedal. He emigrated in 1880 to Menomonie. He took the name Thomas Haugen in America. The couple moved to Washburn at least by 1892, because their son Embert was born there.
Guri died March 19, 1929. In her obituary it is mentioned that she leaves a half brother Nels Larson in Washburn, a long time merchant. They were neighbors in 1910.
The obituary is found in the Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen for May 13, 1929.
