Krista,

The following are just leads. They would have to be confirmed by other information.

My mother grew up in Woodville Township and mentioned the Krueger name several times. A Fred Krueger owned a farm in the vicinity. Look in Section 15 in the northern part of the plat of Woodville Township of 1893 at
http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/WI/WI-idx?type=arti.... The plat of 1920 shows Fred’s farm to have been owned by Walter Krueger—probably Fred’s son. A Gustave Krueger also owned a farm in the area.

You might check out the list of graves in the Forest Home Cemetery at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~calumet/ce.... There are several Kruegers buried there. Among them is Emelia Kruger (1863-1900), who is described a “Husband of Fr. Kruger.” Perhaps she was married to Fred before he married Ernestine in 1901; that is, if your Fred and "Fr." were the same guy. Yes, the spelling of the last name is different, too. Such subtle changes in spelling seem to be quite common. Both Krueger and Kruger may have been spelled Krüger in German.

Good luck!

John
