Classification: Query
Surnames: John Bowe, Ellen Mahoney Bowe
My husband (whose mother is Janet Bowe b. Fox Lake, WI) and I were excited to see your query and are quite sure we are researching the same family. His grandfather John Bowe met Ellen Mahoney on the boat from Ireland; we have copies of their story as told in 1950 by their daughter Catherine Bowe. We have the original patent for their farm and would be happy to share all documents. We've had no information on their birthplaces and would love to have your documents on this. In searching the internet tonight I see that the Dodge County Pionier(sic) lists Ellen Bowe's obituary on 12/28/00; this corresponds with our information that she was born about 1823 and died 17 Dec 1900; John Bowe died 4Sept87 and was born about 1800. John was a founder of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fox Lake.
