“ He was my GGreat-Grandfather and migrated to the United States from Genoa, Italy, when he was about 19 years old. This would have been about 1827 or 1828. I understand that at some point, he returned to Genoa and brought his brother back (two, I think). I have no additional information about him until when in 1860, according to his obituary, he was in Honduras and witnessed the execution of William Walker by the Honduran Government. By the time of the Civil War, he had settled near Murfreesboro and in 1864, he purchased a piece of land on Murfreesboro Road (now 1721 Old Murfreesboro Road) from Jacob McGavock, Jr.
