My great grandfather, JOHN SKOPEC, was born in Bohemia ca 1850, and immigrated to USA with his parents FRANK SKOPEC & ANNA HLAVAC. He worked on the boats/barges. He married ANNA PANKA on Feb 11, 1873 in St. Gabriel's Church, Prairie du Chien, CRAWFORD CO, WI. They lived in Prairie du Chien until 1880.
