John B. McMillin is the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Smith) McMillin. His siblings were Eve A. (1822-1912), wife of John Copas; Henry (born abt. 1823); James Jefferson (born abt. 1828); Andrew Jackson (born abt. 1830); Michael S. (1831-1892), husband of Susan Dobbs; John B. McMillin (1834-1908), husband of Elisa Ann Parsons; Barbara (born abt. 1835), wife of Stephen Dobbs; and Franklin (born abt. 1838). The McMillin children were born in Middleton, Township, Columbiana Co., OH. They lived in Huntington Township, Gallia Co., OH in the late 1840s and early 1850s and moved to Crawford Co., WI in the mid-1850s. Some of the McMillins later moved to Richland Co., WI. Henry McMillin was born about 1800 in Pennsylvania and married Elizabeth Smith about 1821. He married a second time to Ruth Glenn Adney on 14 Dec.1874 in Crawford Co. This marriage record says his father was John McMillin.

The McMillins were neighhbors of the Copas/Copus family in Columbiana Co., OH, Gallia Co., OH and Crawford Co., WI. Eve A. McMillin married John Copas (1815-1891) about 1842. John was the son of Aaron and Phoebe (Guy) Copas. Aaron was born about 1793 in Virginia and died 14 Nov. 1855 in Huntington T., Gallia Co., OH. Phoebe was born about 1796 in Loudoun Co., VA to Hezekiah and Winifred (Cummins/Cummings) Guy and died about 1842 in Columbiana Co. Aaron and Phoebe married 11 Aug. 1814 in Columbiana Co. and had at least 7 children. The known childen are John, Thomas B. (1818-27 April 1882), Aaron (1822-May 1894), Phoebe (1833-?) and William H. (born abt. 1837). John, Thomas and Phoebe moved to Crawford Co. about 1857 and had large families. Thomas was married to Nancy Ann Cummins on 23 July 1843 in Gallia Co., OH. Phoebe was married to Israel Johnson on 1 Nov. 1853 in Meigs Co., OH.
