I should have mentioned that William and his wife are buried in the Vernon Township Cemetery, Renwick, Humboldt, Iowa.
Listed as Rumens: Eunice C. born July 1, 1823 died Sept. 16, 1863.
William born July 20, 1820, died July 28, 1897.

William H. Rumens (as it is spelled there) was born March 16, 1878 and died July 30, 1881.
There are a few others.

Daily Milwaukee News, April 23, 1868, page 5.
Another of the Lost -- Among those who were destroyed upon the Sea Bird (this is a vessel) was M.R. Kurvink of Cedar Grove, Sheboygan County. He was an industrious, honest farmer of 52 years of age and a Hollander by birth who had lived on the same farm for nearly 20 years. His loss is indeed a blow of great severity to his family as he leaves a wife and six children, five of whom are under 10 years of age, without any provisions for their support. When he met his fate he was on his way to Chicago on busines and took the boat in this city (Milwaukee).

This boat caught on fire in Lake Michigan. I can send information regarding this accident in pdf format.
I will see what else I can locate.
