How early were marriages and deaths recorded in Wisconsin? My husband's g grandfather, William Rummens(Rummins), was widowed in about 1862. His deceased wife was Eunice Caroline Hart Rummens, born in NY, died in Wisconsin. Also looking for evidence of William's 2nd marriage, to a woman named Jane, who was born in Holland. Her last name may have been something like Kurwint(probably misspelled), because several children with that last name lived in the Rummens household in Iowa at the time of the 1870 census. William lived in both Washington and Dane counties in WI.
