Hello, I am not related. Hope this helps. RP
-------------
The 1900 census shows Delilah Mcdonald having 11 children, but only 3 living. Martha & Hattie would be 2, and John would have been the 3rd child living during the 1900 census. He was listed as single. Delilah also had 3 Mcdonald grandchildren living with her in 1900 7 1905. I would think they were children of either James or Francis, or possibly William, although william would have been about 18 years old when the first child was born.

There is an obit for Daniel in the Kewaunee County newspaper, as well as an obit for Mrs. John Meverden.

I am looking for the obituaries (or any other information that would list the children) of Daniel and Delila (Bristol) McDonald.

Daniel died on 5 April 1898 in Sevastopol. He was born in Canada in 1832. Delila (nee Bristol) was born in March 1834 in Canada and died 3 August 1921 in Door County (likely Sturgeon Bay).

Census records for 1870 and 1880 show 7 children, but I can only trace what happened to 2 of these children. Any information on the other 5 would be great. Perhaps obituaries from William or Delila would list them and their locations.

McDonald Children

James Born 1857

Francis Born 1858

William, 1863

Martha, 1865 (Married John Meverden and died in Algoma in 1949)

John, 1867

Hattie, 1868, married Collin Morgan Smith in 1890 in Door County

Hubert, 1874

Esperance maiden name was HANNON according to another researchers info...not Hannson.
They are pretty close in spelling as you can see.
Elisabeth Soquet did marry a Bibeau man.
Ruth, I am confused about this info. Jean P Soquet is listed on the marriage info along with an E. Hannson as the mother of Lizzie's marriage to Basil Bibeau in 1879, supposedly 2 years after he went to prison. Do you have any info on the death of Esperance/Esproundis and actual info on the disappearance of the wife Jean P married after he supposedly killed his wife?

This seems to be the same line as my great grandmother Elisabeth Soquet b: 3 jan 1863 in Brown her father was Jean P Soquet and mother was Esproundis/Esperance. I have her maiden name as Hannson. Not sure if she had an older sister named Mary. I do know that Elisabeth's daughter (Anne Alice Bibeau) named her daughter Esproundis, my aunt. My grandmother told me her grandparents were from Belgium. This is the only info I have and have been trying to find more on their heritage.
Please feel free to email me at: dhandy48@yahoo.com

Hilpert had a half sister, Justina Knipfing who married fred Koehler .They lived in brooklyn ,Ny York, then moved to milwaukee. They were the sponsors for my great grandparents when they came to America in 1882.My great aunt, Sister Mary Generose,S.S.N.D. used to write and sometimes see, her cousins, Henry and Marion Koehler.Do those names ring a bell? I'll have to try the Milwaukee board to see if anything turns up that I can give you.

If you know approximate dates of death, you should be able to order that year from the Door Co. Advocate through your local library (I believe they get it from State Historical Society in Madison) on microfilm/fiche. I believe there was also another paper at that time called the Door County Democrat, if you are unable to find the obits you need in the Advocate.

I know that your posting was some years ago....I am just beginning to search my husband's family. His gggrand-father and gggrandmother were Gaspard Joachim and Felicie LaTour. The information that I have, so far, indicates that Felice immigrated to the U.S. in 1872. If this matches what you have then you and my husband are cousins. Please reply if you want to continue to share.

Gatgrandma,
Yes, Felice did emigrate in 1972 along with her parents and sibs. Her brother Louis Latour was my great grandfather. Are you located in Wisconsin?
I have a few photos, one of Felicie and Gaspard, and one of her parents, Melchior Latour and Marie Sarton.

The 1920 census indicates that Ambroise Gaspard Joseph Joachim arrived in 1878.
Mary

I have obatined many obits through the Algoma, Wi public library for a minimal cost. The Rotsweb county sites for Door and Kewaunee counties are very good for lists and indexes.

Good luck in your search

Hi Robin: I am planning on coming to Door County for family research this summer. I am looking for obituaries for:
Anton Long 1835-1915 and his first wife Antonia Long 1846-1888. This would give me a start with looking up their children so I can procede from there.

Also, do you know if there is a published list from the library or newspaper of obituaries that can be obtained online?
Thank you for your offer to search obits.
Lois
