I have record of Mary Agatha Sinz born in Tyrol, Austria to F. Anthony Sinz and Mary Elizabeth (Rush) Sinz. Rush is Usch in German. F. Anthony was born May 3, 1825 and Mary Elizabeth was born Jan 12, 1821. F. Anthony died April 30, 1890 in Dunn County, WI and Mary Elizabeth died Jan 4-5, 1905 in Dunn County, WI. They were married in Austria. They had 2 children born in Austria: a son and Mary Agatha. Around 1852 they came to America. Their son died on voyage over here and Mary Elizabeth didn't want him buried at sea, so hid him until they got to Dubuque, Iowa and they buried him there. It took them six weeks to cross the ocean. They came in from New Orleans and came up the Mississippi. They settled in Eau Galle, WI where there was a spring (about 6 miles from Eau Galle. They homesteaded a section of land (640 acres) and built a log house. there were 2 springs on the secton. At the time Indians were living there. Anthony made his Declaration of Intent in Seneca County, Ohio on October 17, 1855. He became a citizen in the circuit court at Menomonie, Dun County, WI on March 9, 1869. After they settled near Eau Galle they had 3 more children. Wilamina born July, 1855, Frank born Feb, 1861, and John born Sept, 1862. Their land section was eventually divided 4 ways between their four children. John and Frank operated the Sinz Bros Sawmill there. At harvest time, they operated a threshing machine for the area farmers. Mary Elizabeth was a midwife and delivered and doctored most of the babies in the community.The 1900 census showed Mary Elizabeth was living with her son John Sinz, and that she had had 9 children, but only four were living. Both F. Anthony and Mary Elizabeth are buried in the St. Henry's Church Cemetery in Eau Galle in lot #34 of the old section. I have on documentation on the above story of their immigration, but this is the story passed to me from my grandmother, Hazel Agatha Hurlburt Price.

Mary Agatha and France Slagle had 11 children. Nettie married George Hurlburt and had 5 children. Delilah married Bert Hurlburt and had 4 children. (Delilah was my great grandmother). Anna married Clarence Roach and had two children. Nellie married John Roach and had no children. Fred married Clara Joackson and had four children and were later divorced. Bill married _____ Seiple. Lucy married George Thompson and had one child. Mary married Chiles Tiroux and had no children and Mary had a 2nd marriage to Harlan ______. Helen married Clyde Foster. I do have a bit more info on each family, but this response is getting pretty lengthy.
