Thank you for looking and sending the index link. James Harding Brown is definitely not in that index. He died in 1917 so maybe he wasn't considered among the up-and-coming citizens in 1914.

His obit states that he was a Mason, "About 60 years ago he became a member of Eau Claire Lodge No. 112, and is [sic] the oldest member of that lodge, with one exception, that being the Hon. W.P. Bartlett, a neighbor and friend. The funeral of Mr. Brown will be under Masonic auspices, and notice of the time will be given later.” Is there anything about that lodge in the book?
