Mrs. Magdalene Friedel, wife of Charles Friedel, 198 East Johnson St., died suddenly between 3 and 3:20 o'clock yesterday at the rear of her home where she had gone to gather eggs. Death was caused by heart trouble. Although Mrs. Friedel had suffered from heart trouble for sometime she appeared in her usual health yesterday. At 3 o'clock she held a telephone conversation with a friend. Shortly after this she presumably went out to gather the eggs. She was found at 3:20 holding eggs she had gathered. Death had evidently come very quickly. Mrs. Friedel's daughter, Mrs. Anton Schumacher was called as was also a physician who pronounced Mrs. Friedel dead. Mrs. Friedel was 59 years of age. She was born January 15, 1862, at Mount Calvary being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Haensgen. She was married at Mount Calvary 36 years ago to Charles Friedel. Besides her husband Mrs. Friedel leaves six children to mourn her loss, three sons and three daughters. The sons are William, Ambrose, and Herman Friedel of this city, and the daughters are Mrs. Anton Schumacher, Mrs. J. Kraus, and Miss Margaret Friedel all of this city. She is also survived by three brothers Joseph and John Haensgen of this city and Simon Haensgen of Canada and four sisters, Mrs. Peter Birschbach and Mrs. Jacob Friedel of this city and Mrs. John Birschbach and Mrs. Charles Sippel of Mount Calvary. Mrs. Friedel was a devout communicant at St. Mary's Church also a member of St. Mary's Altar Society. There are ten grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 9:15 o'clock Tuesday morning at the residence and at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Church, Rev. Chas. Stehling officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
