I was going over some of my old documentation, and came across some notes assembled by my gr. uncle Edward Wickert before his death. Among them was a transcription of the Kraemer families from the 1860 FDL census.
According to Edward, these four Kraemer (Kramer) 's were brothers.
Children of UNKNOWN KRAEMER are:
2. i. NICHOLAS KRAEMER, b. 1807, Prussia.
3. ii. HENRY KRAEMER, b. 1814, Prussia.
4. iii. ANTON KRAEMER, b. 1819, Prussia.
5. iv. CONRAD KRAEMER, b. 1833, Prussia.
The "remembrance card" for my gr. gr. grandfather Nicholaus (son of the Nicholas, above) uses the Kraemer spelling, but I think most of the FDL descendents now have shortened it to Kramer, which is also the spelling which I find on the 1874 Marshfield Twp. map.
Does anyone have any info on "unknown" Kraemer?
I have a 10-page descendancy report for Nicholaus' line for those with a Kramer / Kraemer interest.
