Fantastic; I was never sure about the Bates last name for Hannah, so this is indeed welcome news.

I recently have been able to link our John Jay Porter with Erastus and Hannah, he was their first son, born 1824 in New York. Erastus and Hannah had another son, Erastus D. Porter, born New York in 1827. John Jay married Amanda Mariah Bates, Erastus married Phoebe C. Rockwell.

Would be interested in more info on Hannah Travis. Coincidentally, a Philip Travis, born also in NY about 1799, was step-father to one Melissa Dubois who married two Charles Porters, one a son of Erastus and Hannah, (Charles B.), then marrying Charles E., son of John Jay and Amanda Mariah., marriages taking place in Green County, Wisconsin.
