Hi There!

This will seem sorta dis-jointed....but bear with it....

I'm trying to locate information on Elizabeth Grace Davis, born in Platteville,June 17,1855.

Her parents were:John Davis & Mary Ann Cox of Cornwall,England. ( They immigrated to....Wisconsin? ). John was a copper miner, and at some point the family moved to Rockland,Ontonagon,Michigan.( Where they appear in the 1880 Census.)

Elizabeth married William Oates (mispelled "Oats" sometimes),in Ontonagon,Michigan in 1873.

Here's the tricky part....neither appear in Michigan in the 1870 Census,so they must be in Wisconsin.

William was also a miner,born in 1849 in Cornwall,England.
I don't know if he immigrated solo,or with parents.

Any clues would be helpful.

Thanks!

P.S.

I know about them from 1880 onward.( Wound up in Gilpin & Teller Counties,Colorado )
