Caleb Mallory had two sons named Noble....he was brother of Solomon's father Elijah. Elijah removed back to New York (They had come from Connecticut to Vermont and then to the Holland Purchase..Nelson,Madison co Ny, and about 1804 to Northumberland Co Ontario. Elijah left Canada about 1811 and with his team of horses received government contracts for road building and delivering supplies. Supposedly, he died on a supply trip to Albany NY. Solomon apparently returned to Canada and took part in the Northumberland Militia with Nelson and Lt Caleb Mallory in 1826.. He was single on the census until the mid-1830's when apparently more family members, including mother Sarah came to join him in Canada. He purchased land in Wisconsin as early as 1841. I love the part where 55 year old Solomon (or close to it) married 14-year old Mary Digby. She was born in 1851 and they married in 1865 and Mary stuck with himn for approx the next 23 years before they divorced and she remarried and had a daughter. (Cherokee co Iowa)
Solomon's marriage record has his father's name..Elijah...which turns out to be exactly who I thought it was likely to be. Thomas was one of Elijah's brothers. There Cpt John Mallory and Beulah Thomas had seven sons.
PS: My aunt and uncle (siblings) died in Victoria a week apart back in 2002. (Jasper Mallory Daniels, aka Allen Farrell and sister Lois Daniels Flanagan...grandchildren of Elizabeth Mallory.
Re land purchase....I'll have to double check that. I looked at it again and it was same land office but different days.... Again, I need to revisit that. Should have relied on memory.
