N.E. Mallory is Noble Elijah Mallory. Solomon is Solomon Thomas Mallory. I still don't know whether of not Noble and Solomon where brothers. Someday maybe one of us will find his death record and it may have his parents names on it. (if we are lucky)

I am curious to know where you found the info that they both purchased land on the same day in 1861?

I found land patents a couple of years ago at Bureau of Land Management(BLM), General Land Office (GLO) Records Automation web site. I see that ancestry has acquired these records. You can view them there or view them for free at BLM.

Volney & Florence(Ratcliff) Mallory, Glen & Mable(Blaney)Mallory, Pearl(Mallory)& Cecil Davis and Lucy Matilda(Ratcliff) Mallory are buried in the Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
