There are three cemeteries in Hurley, and they are all located in the city of Hurley, NOT Kimball Township. The error evidently occurred when someone was preparing a list of cemeteries in WI. The three cemeteries located within the city limits of Hurley (on the south side of the city, east of highway 51) are: St Mary's - owned by the Hurley Catholic parish, and for members of the Catholic parishes of St Mary's, Hurley, Sacred Heart (now defunct) of Montreal, and Holy Redeemer (formerly St Anthony's Pence, also now closed); Sharey Zedek ("Gate of Charity" - the Jewish cemetery, named after the synagogue in Hurley which functioned from about 1892 to 1940; and the Hurley City cemetery, popularly referred to as the Protestant cemetery but in fact owned by the city of Hurley.
