Hello Everyone,

I was surprised to see the birth of an unnamed child in Price, Wisconsin on 4 Jul 1878 to my ancestors, Fred Foertsch and Barbara Schlegel. The births preceding and following this were all in Racine.

Is there anyone in Price who might be able to tell me if this was the only birth between 1875-78? Were there any deaths of children? Are there any directories that might say where they lived and how long?

The family was in Racine for the 1870 and 1880 federal censuses. What about the 1875 state census?

NOTE: I originally posted my query on the Price County message board, but was informed that Price County was formed in 1879 from Lincoln and Chippewa counties and therefore does not have any births recorded for 1878. There are only 3 deaths recorded for each of the years 1879 and 1880. None looked like Foertsch.

Here, I was told that there is/was a Price in the Town of Garfield in Jackson County, Wisconsin.
