Hi,

I was wondering if you had a listing for Edward Charles Conklin, sometimes called "Michael" or any Conklin at all. I have a letter written in 1929 from the Industrial School for Boys stating that Edward was in the Jefferson County Poor House around 1856. I was told that his mother died and he was placed in the Poor House as an orphan but maybe his father was still alive.
Here is a copy of the letter:
Inmate Edward Charles Conklin, orphan. Letter sent to Aunt Ella from school in about 1929. Letter from Wisconsin School For Boys, Waukesha, Wisconsin September 20, 1929 to Mrs. Ella Fahrney I have your letter of 1rst asking for information concerning Edward Charles Conklin. Our records show that this man was committed to the Institution September 21, 1865 from Racine County at age 12 years. Our records show the following information: Is an orphan. Was in the Poor House in Jefferson County, Was taken out by a man name of Farley. Lived with him 1 or 2 years. Then went from place to place. In September 1873 went to live with WM McNauhgton, Charles City, Iowa. This is all the information we have. Yours Truly, HE Phillip Superintendent

I was told that there might be an Inmate Registration Certificate for Edward Charles Conklin.

Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
