Looking for information on a US Army Soldier named Gerald Wipfli from Nakossa, WI that served with my father in the Normandy, France Campaign of World War II. He was killed in action in August 1944. He was one of two ‘platoon runners’ (ran orders back and forth from the line to the company headquarters) for my dad. He was just a kid according to my dad whom was only 26 at the time. My dad was with him when he got killed. My dad was very fond of him. He even named his first boy after him. My dad often wonders if he has any family left in Nakossa!

They served in the 28th Infantry Division, 112th Infantry Regiment, Third Battalion, “I” Company.
