Years ago a picture surfaced in Otter Tail County MN of a church which I have tried to identify for many years. Rechecking an old book 'Norsk Lutherske Menigheter i Amerika' 1843- 1916 I found a church today which resembles the picture I have. The only difference in the pictures is that there is a huge assembly of people pictured in front of the church. It states in the book that it is located at Holmen (8 miles northeast), LaCrosse Co., Wis.. The first Pastor was H. A. Stub.
If anyone can help me identify this church, I would appreciate it. I can send a copy of the photo and the photo in the Norwegian Church book for comparison. The Lewis Valley church was apparently built in 1893-1894 at a cost of $3,800 altho organized in 1856.
It appears that over the front doorway it says 'Norw. Evang. Lutheran Church' The year is so hard to read but could be 1893. Thank you for any help.
