Nickolaus Benidict Volm, 87, 1402 Fourth St., Marathon, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born March 10, 1911, in Marathon, son of the late Daniel and Maggie (Bach) Volm. He married Henrietta Volkman on Feb. 12, 1934, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon.
Nick worked in maintenance at the Whitehouse Milk Co. For 44 years until he retired in 1969. He was the founder and former owner of the Skyline Mobile Court, in Marathon.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Volm, Marathon; one daughter, Ottilia "Tillie" Hugly, Pittsburgh; four sons, Christie (Gerry) Bloom, Marathon, William "Bill" (Ursula) Volm, Rib Mountain, Thomas (Marilyn) Volm, Cortez, Colo., and Chuck (Sharon) Volm, Oostburg, Wis.; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Callhan, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and daughter-in-law, Judy (Len) Berg, Edgar.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Lang; two sisters, Agnes McSorley and Cicelia Kruger; and five brothers, Pete, Frank, Andy, Ottmar, and Daniel Volm.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Lloyd Geissler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marathon. Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, assisted the family with arrangements.
