Gottlieb F. Bartelt Obituary

Survived by seventy-four direct descendants, Gottlieb F. Bartelt, 817 N. Third Avenue, former Town of Berlin Farmer, died this morning at 6 o'clock after an illness of two weeks. He was 90 years old. Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Gertschen, 819 N. Avenue, and at 2 o'clock at the German Methodist Church. The Rev H.C. Stahmer will officiate and burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetary. The body will be at the Helke funeral home until 10 o'clock Sunday Morning. when it will be taken to the Gertschen home.

Mr. Bartelt was born in Germany Feb 7, 1847, and came to the United States and the town of Berlin in 1878. He was married there to Emma Gralow, who died here Oct 5, 1935. The couple moved to Wausau seventeen years ago. Surviving eleven children, Fred Bartelt and Mrs. Alfred Hoffman, town of Stettin, Mrs. Louis Luedtke, 910 Sixth Avenue, Erich Bartelt, Mrs. Emil Karschenske, and Mrs. Edward Heuer, Muscatine, Ia., Mrs. Otto Siedler, town of Maine, Gottlieb Bartelt, Jr., Marathon, William and Hugo Bartelt, at home, and Mrs. Gertschen. Fifty-three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.
