"Looking for connections to one Christian Schoewe who emigrated from Germany to Milwaukee, Wisconsin around 1850. Later married one Marie Ebert(nee)Wendt (widowed as Wendt)in 1859 ... Albert was one of Christian's sons born around 1860 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If you have any information ..."

I've indexed some Schoewe family names found in the local German-American newspapers: a Christian Schöwe, who received a letter postmarked from Prussian Stargardt in the 1860s. This comes from a list of letters held at the post office prior to being returned; family death notices for an Albert Schoewe in 1900; other Schoewe names Augusta, Rev. Gustave; Mrs. Bertha Bast (née Schoewe), Helen Kramer (referencing Schoewe).

"Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).
